A DISCUSSION ON CANADIAN FOREIGN
POLICY IN THE BALTIC REGION

With Hon. Bob Rae, Foreign Affairs Critic &
Hon. Bryon Wilfert, Critic for National Defence

Hon. Bryon Wilfert, MP, Richmond Hill and Hon. Bob Rae, MP, Toronto Centre, will speak on the issue of Canadian foreign policy in The Baltic Region at an event on April 12th, 2008 in Toronto.

The event, “A Discussion on Canadian Foreign Policy in The Baltic Region,” is being hosted by award winning Canadian-Estonian documentary filmmaker and developer of the Washington D.C. based Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, “Global Museum on Communism,” Marcus Kolga, Canadian-Estonian businessman, Uno Jaason and the Richmond Hill Federal Liberal Riding Association at Tartu College, 310 Bloor St. West at 4:30pm, on Saturday April 12th.

The event is the fist of its kind, bringing together members of the Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian and Polish communities to discuss informally, directly and intimately with two prominent and influential Canadian politicians, important issues facing these communities.

Bob Rae, who is a member of the Canadian-Lithuanian community and Bryon Wilfert, who was recently awarded the Estonian Central Council 2008 Order of Merit, are both active and outspoken supporters of the Canadian-Baltic communities.

“Bob Rae and Bryon Wilfert have been very supportive of our communities,” said Kolga; “they both possess a profound understanding of our issues and are not afraid to bring them up in Ottawa.”

The event will give audience members an opportunity to directly interact with Bob Rae and Bryon Wilfert. Also participating in the event, will be former President of the Estonian Central Council in Canada, Laas Leivat.

Cost of the event is $50 for adults (ages 26+) and $15 for youth under the age of 26. Light refreshments will be served, and tax receipts issued for a portion of the cost.
