October 2002/Golden Jubilee Medal Presentation

 Bryon Wilfert, Member of Parliament, Oak Ridges, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance presented Her Majesty's Golden Jubilee Medals to twenty recipients in the federal riding of Oak Ridges, Oct. 17, 2002.

February 20th, 2002 marks the 50th anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen's accession to the throne. To celebrate Her Majesty's commitment, dignity, presence and sense of duty to the people of Canada, Her Excellency the Right Honorable Adrienne Clarkson, Governor General and Commander-in-chief of Canada announced the approval of the creation of the Golden Jubilee Medal. The medal is to be presented to Canadians in recognition of their significant achievement or distinguished services rendered to their fellow citizens and to the communities in Canada.
